The Nanaimo RCMP have seized a vehicle in connection with an ongoing hit and run investigation that resulted in an adult woman being sent to hospital with significant injuries. Her dogs, which she and her husband were walking at the time, were also injured. The incident occurred at approximately 3:30 PM on March 4, 2022, on Lorenzen Lane which is located at the end of Superior Road, in Lantzville.

Recently, the investigation lead officers with the Nanaimo RCMP Traffic Unit to a home in Lantzville where a vehicle was seized for a forensic investigation. The owner of the vehicle was identified and provided a statement to investigators.

The victim was notified of these developments and is grateful that the investigation is moving forward. Police are also confident in saying that there are others in the community who have knowledge of this incident but for unknown reasons, they have not come forward, said R/Constable Gary O’Brien of the Nanaimo RCMP. At this time no charges have been laid.

If anyone has information on this hit and run, please call the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345, and quote file # 2022-7458.
