Two Vehicle Collision Resulting in a Fatality

On 25 June 2024 at approximately 12:35 pm Nelson RCMP responded to a report of a two vehicle collision on Slocan River Rd in Winlaw BC.  A sixteen year old male driving a 2008 Honda motorcycle was travelling in the  southbound lane when he swerved into the oncoming lane and collided with a 2005 GMC Envoy. The male was immediately ejected off the motorcycle upon impact and landed approximately thirty meters away from where initial contact was made. Paramedics arrived on scene and performed life saving measures but the male was pronounced deceased. The female driver of the GMC Envoy suffered minor injuries and did not require medical attention.
