In a follow up to Sea to Sky RCMP – Whistlers’ release from April 25, 2024, Sea to Sky RCMP are still seeing a trend of vehicle thefts, and thefts from vehicles throughout the corridor.
On the morning of May 9, 2024, Sea to Sky RCMP – Squamish responded to a report of a stolen vehicle taken from a residential property in the Paradise Valley area. Police were able to quickly respond and locate the vehicle approximately 15 minutes after the report was received in a rural location. Police arrested the two suspects located with the vehicle. The female suspect was well known to the Sea to Sky RCMP – Squamish with this being her fourth arrest for similar offences over the past few days. The suspects are held in custody and awaiting a court hearing.
We know who these suspects are, and will continue to be vigilant in keeping our communities safe
says Sgt. Dallas Langley, OPS NCO of the Sea to Sky RCMP – Squamish.
The Sea to Sky RCMP – Squamish would like to remind the public to review the following crime prevention tips and share them with others:
- Always keep your vehicle locked and use an anti-theft device;
- Do not keep spare keys in your vehicle;
- Do not leave valuables and property in your vehicle, or in sight;
- Wait for automatic gates to close behind you if you enter or leave a secure parking area;
- Report suspicious persons or activity around vehicles to your local police.
