On Wednesday, November 29, 2023, Chetwynd RCMP received a report of a dog that was killed. The RCMP is taking this matter very seriously and immediately began an investigation.

We can now confirm that the dog had been shot and look to the public for any information to help further this investigation said Sgt. Wahnese Antonioni, NCO i/c Chetwynd RCMP.

The investigation is active and ongoing and we believe this to be an isolated incident. We do not believe this to be targeted.

If you were in the area of Jackfish Road around 3:50 pm (MST) and have any information about this or have dash cam video, contact the Chetwynd RCMP at (250) 788- 9221.
