Oceanside RCMP News Release

One person has died in an early morning house fire on Wednesday morning.

On March 29, 2023 at approximately 5:00 a.m. local fire departments and Oceanside RCMP responded to a residential structure fire in the 2200 block of Northwest Bay Road, Nanoose Bay. Upon arrival, first responders learned that one of the residents may have still been inside the house which was fully engulfed.

Unfortunately, once the fire was extinguished, one person was located deceased inside the residence. 

Criminality has been excluded as a related cause of the fire. The investigation into the exact origin and cause of the fire continues in conjunction with the Office of the Fire Commissioner and the BC Coroners Service.
