Thank you to Dawson Creek residents for doing your part to prevent auto crime,
said Tracey Hoffman, road safety and community coordinator for northern B.C. These steering wheel locks will help deter auto thieves from targeting older vehicles without an immobilizer or other anti-theft device in Dawson Creek.
Some tips to help prevent auto crime:
- Never leave your keys in your vehicle;
- Lock doors and close all windows of your vehicle;
- Take valuables with you;
- Use an anti-theft device;
- If able to do so, purchase a remote start to idle your vehicle in a safe manner over the colder months of the year to prevent idling your vehicle with keys inside.
