Police arrest and charge man after dangerous encounter

Police successfully apprehended Daniel Querin, age 50 after he fled from police, ramming a police vehicle and driving through a heavily crowded area to escape custody.
On September 20th, 2024 the Dawson Creek RCMP received an anonymous report that Daniel was driving a truck pulling a trailer near 102nd Avenue and 11th Street, Dawson Creek. Police located the truck, however when police attempted to stop him, Daniel drove the truck forward, ramming a police vehicle and fled onto Alaska Avenue.
Police received further reports that Daniel had driven across the side walk and over medians through the Dawson Creek Art Gallery parking lot, narrowly missing several pedestrians. Daniel then proceeded against traffic through the 8th Street round about, leaving a large trail of damaged property before crashing into a nearby business’s yard. Police located the truck a second time, however he fled once again. Police reacquired Daniel after his truck broke down and safely took him into custody.
Daniel was charged with assaulting a police officer with a weapon, obstructing a police officer, driving while disqualified, two counts of flight from a police officer, failure to stop after accident with a person, refusal to comply with a demand and breach of a release order. Police have request that Daniel remain in custody.
Daniel has a history of very similar interactions with police in Dawson Creek. In August, 2022 Daniel rammed a police vehicle using a stolen truck while attempting to escape apprehension, he was arrested and found to be in possession of multiple loaded firearms and in breach of several conditions. In a separate instance in August 2022, Daniel was located driving a stolen truck and used it to ram police vehicles.
The Dawson Creek RCMP would like the thank the diligent members of the public who alerted police to the whereabouts of Daniel and aided in his apprehension.
