Theft

2024-1429

On July 12, 2024 a caller in Lillooet reported his utility trailer was broken into sometime over night and numerous tools valued at approximately $3000 were taken. There was no surveillance footage, witnesses, suspects. The incident was documented with no further avenues of investigation.

Break and enter

2024-1434

On July 12, 2024 a staff member at a medical clinic in Lillooet reported a break and enter sometime from the prior evening to the early hours of that morning. Items taken were $650 in cash and 3 Dell laptops. There was no video surveillance and there was an extensive time delay from the time of report. A neighbouring businesses camera was checked and 2 individuals dressed in dark clothing were seen in the area. The matter was documented with no further leads arising.

Uttering threats

2024-1471

On July 16, 2024 at 11:52 pm a caller reported he had approached a semi-truck driver idling in a no idling zone in Lytton and when he confronted the driver, the driver threatened him. No specifics threats were mentioned. The license plate provided for the suspect was not registered to a vehicle and the caller was unable to provide a description of the suspect. The matter was documented with no further avenues for investigation.

Interest to police

2024-1531

On July 23, 2024 a caller reported a suspicious occurrence where a man was trying to sell someone’s trailer in the Bralorne community of Lillooet, the owner resided outside the community of Lillooet and was not selling the trailer. The trailer is pictured at the bottom of this news release and is of interest to police. Anyone who has seen the trailer below or has further information on it is asked to call Lillooet RCMP.

Mental Health Act

2024-1560

On July 28, 2024 a caller reported that a man was trying to hurt himself at an abandoned home near Lytton. The man had cut his wrist and hit his head into a window. RCMP members were able to locate the abandoned home and the man was actively trying to break things inside. The man was arrested for causing a disturbance and assessed by BC Ambulance Service who advised he was okay to be transported to a police cell. The man was subsequently transported to Lillooet cells until he was sober. The man’s mental health was assessed when he was sober and he was not thinking of harming himself or others. He was transported back to the community of Lytton to be in the care of his family.

Break and enter

2024-1614

On August 2, 2024 at 10:48 hours a report of a break and enter in progress was received in Lillooet. An RCMP member and Stl’atl’imx Tribal police member attended the area and located a man and a women fleeing the area carrying numerous bags. Police successfully arrested the two for break and enter following a foot chase. Over $5000 of goods that were stolen were recovered by police and returned to the home owner days later when they were back in town. The man and women were charged with break and entering to commit an indictable offence, theft over $5000, and mischief (for damage done to the home). The file is proceeding through the courts with the BC Prosecution Service.

Dangerous operation of motor vehicle

2024-1622

On August 4, 2024 at 10:52 am a report of a motor vehicle collision with a cyclist was received occurring on Highway 12 in Lytton. RCMP members attended the scene and spoke with the driver. The cyclist who was struck was airlifted by a helicopter and transported to Vancouver hospital. A RCMP Collision Reconstruction Analyst attended the scene of the collision to investigate as well. The matter is still under investigation.

Obstruct Peace Officer

2024-1649

On August 6, 2024 a BC Wildfire member at a local camp in Lillooet reported a contractor employee was causing issues, yelling, and not leaving the area after he was asked to leave by his employer. The man yelling was possibly under the influence of drugs. RCMP and Stl’Atl’Imx Tribal police members attended and tried to speak to the man who refused to identify himself, continued to yell, and escalate. After over half an hour the man continued to escalate and postured up to fight police. He was arrested for causing a disturbance and obstructing a peace officer and brought into police custody. The man’s identity was confirmed and it was learned he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was lodged in the Lillooet drunk tank and released on a court date the following day for his outstanding warrant. There were no new charges sought. 

Theft of electric bikes

2024-1692

On August 10, 2024 a caller reported two electric bikes were taken from outside the Reynolds Hotel in Lillooet sometime over night. The bikes were described as Elegant bikes. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Lillooet RCMP, please reference Lillooet RCMP file 2024-1692.
