Police arrest two men in relation to stolen vehicle

The Dawson Creek RCMP have successfully taken two men into custody after they arrived in Dawson Creek in a stolen vehicle.
On 1st June, 2024 the Dawson Creek RCMP were alerted to a suspicious vehicle parked near 17th Street and 116th Avenue. Police located a vehicle that had been stolen from Grande Prairie earlier in the day. The passenger of the vehicle, 29 year old Cole Hansen was taken into custody. The driver had fled into a nearby forest prior to police arrival.
Police Dog Services and a Remotely Piloted Aircraft System attended the scene and located the outstanding man in the wooded area. Jacob Dennis age 35 was taken into custody without incident.
Cole has been charged with possession of stolen identification. Jacob had been charged with possession of stolen property, possession of a stolen bank card, operating a vehicle while prohibited, carrying a concealed firearm and possession of a firearm for a dangerous purpose.
Cole has a lengthy criminal record for offences such as theft, failing to comply with release orders, trafficking scheduled substances, robbery etc. Jacob also has a lengthy criminal record for offences such as break and enter, possession of stolen property, failing to comply with release orders, firearm offences, fraud, etc.
Police applied to keep both men in custody. Cole was released back into the community. The Dawson Creek RCMP would like to thank Police Dog Services, the Remotely Piloted Aircraft System operator and the members of the public who assisted with the investigation.
