Youth arrested in Fort St John after theft in Alberta

On May 7, 2024 at about 7:30am, the Fort St John RCMP received a request to assist Grande Prairie RCMP in locating a stolen pickup truck believed to be in the area.

The Fort St John RCMP located the pickup truck, parked in the Walmart parking lot located at 9007 96A Street, Fort St John. Information was received that four male youths had been acting strangely and were associated to the vehicle.

The Fort St John RCMP located 4 male youth in the area and they were arrested without incident.

It was determined one youth had been the driver and will be facing one count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000. A second youth had a warrant out of Nanaimo, BC and was arrested on their warrant.

The youth were from Hythe and Grande Prairie, Alberta area and were held until they were released to their guardians.  The youth arrested for possession of property obtained by crime was released on an Undertaking with conditions and a future court date.
