On Saturday September 30, 2023, on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Sea to Sky RCMP (Squamish) and the Integrated First Nations Unit Members enjoyed a paddle around Alice Lake, with a group from Squamish Nation and The Foundry on the Little Thunderbird canoe. The group shared in cultural knowledge and traditions of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation), while listening to Squamish Nation Elders speak of the importance of this day of observance.

#Orangeshirtday is a day to talk, listen, share, remember, reflect, learn, and to honour the survivors and those who never came home.

It was a privilege to be asked to participate, and learn the Squamish Nation canoe culture. Such a beautiful day spent together sharing, and honouring. Says Staff Sergeant Gareth Bradley of the Sea to Sky RCMP (Squamish).
