On May 13, 2023, just before 10:00 p.m., in the 4300 block of Main St., police investigated a report of four men punching and cracking a car window after a driver honked at them. Members located the men at a nearby hotel and arrested them for mischief in relation to the window, and obstruction as they had refused to provide identification. The driver did not wish to pursue charges, and members issued each of the men, from out of area, violation tickets for being drunk in public.
2023-2197/2023-2170 – Impaired driving
On May 12, 2023, at about 10:00 p.m., a member on proactive patrol saw a car speeding so did a traffic stop. The driver showed physical signs of impairment in addition to the car smelling of freshly burned cannabis. The driver did tests for drug impairment, and as a result was issued a driving prohibition. The driver and his passengers were from out of area.
In another instance earlier in the evening, police investigated a report of an intoxicated woman trying to drive from a restaurant, and passers by took her car keys before police arrival.
