Man arrested for attempted murder

Trail – Trail and Greater District RCMP locate and arrest man for attempted murder after woman dropped off at hospital.

On March 27th, 2023, shortly after 5 a.m., a 33-year-old woman was dropped off at the entrance to the Kootenay Boundary Hospital emergency department, in Trail, BC. The woman had sustained an injury consistent with a gunshot wound.

Frontline officers arrived at the hospital where the female victim suffered serious, life-threatening injuries.

The man who had allegedly dropped the woman off at the hospital fled before speaking with hospital staff or the police.

Later that morning, officers arrested a 36-year-old man in relation to the incident, who has since been released pending further investigation.

Both were known to one another, and this appears to be an isolated incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
