Update - Police seek public assistance in identifying deceased male in Dease Lake investigation

The Dease Lake area investigation into the disappearance of Kam Mcleod, and Bryer Schmegelsky, their vehicle recovery and the discovery of an unidentified deceased male continues.
On July 19, 2019 the Dease Lake RCMP responded to a vehicle fire south of Stikine River Bridge on Highway 37. While investigating the vehicle additional information led police to discover a body at a nearby Highway pullout. (see previous release)
As a result of the ongoing investigative efforts, we are also confirming that the deceased male located approximately 2 kms south from the vehicle fire is neither Kam McLeod nor Bryer Schmegelsky.
We are releasing a composite sketch of the male in order to assist us in confirming his identity.
The deceased male is described as
- Between 5 foot 8 and 5 foot 10
- Caucasian
- Heavy build
- 50 to 60 years old
- Grey hair and grey bushy beard
