Request for dash camera footage after hit and run

The Sidney RCMP is currently investigating a multiple vehicle collision that occurred on November 5th, 2023 at approximately 6:15 p.m. on Highway 17 just north of Beacon Avenue in North Saanich.

One of the vehicles involved was a black Volkswagen Golf which fled the scene after the collision.

We are looking to speak with anyone who may have been traveling on Highway 17 between Swartz Bay ferry terminal and Beacon Avenue on the evening of November 5th, 2023, between 6:00 p.m. and 6:20 p.m, who may have crucial information to advance our investigation. said Constable Tim Cosgrove, media relations officer for the Sidney/North Saanich RCMP.

Anyone with information or in possession of dash camera footage is asked to please contact the Sidney/North Saanich RCMP at 250- 656-3931 and reference file number 2023-5869.
