Police are looking to identify a theft suspect who was accompanied by a school age child during the alleged offence.
On May 10, 2023, around 10:35 a.m., the Kamloops RCMP Detachment received a report of a theft from a business in the Valleyview Square, the 2100-block of the East Trans Canada Highway. A man allegedly stole items, including a red Fill-Rite Fuel Pump, and then left in a truck with stolen license plates.
The suspect was in the company of a school-age boy, approximately eight to 10 years old,
said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson. We are releasing an image of the suspect and a non-identifying image of the boy, in hopes that someone from the public will recognize them and contact police so that we may further the investigation.

The suspect is described as:
- Caucasian male
- Late 20s, early 30s
Wearing:
- An orange hoodie with a white logo on the left
- Ball cap with sunglasses on top
- Dark pants
- Grey shoes
The boy is described as:
- Caucasian male
- Age 8-10 years old
- Light coloured hair
- Dressed in dark clothing and a hoodie with a red logo on the left

They departed the store in a white Ford F250 pickup truck with license plates that were reported stolen out of Merritt. A pair of shears were also taken from the store.
Anyone who can identify the suspect, child, or has information about the stolen fuel pump, is asked to please contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2023-16193.
