File # 2022-19080
The Kamloops RCMP Detachment is investigating a robbery involving what appeared to be a firearm in Sahali this afternoon.
On Monday June 6, 2022 around 2:50 p.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers responded to a robbery in progress at a commercial location on the 1200-block of Summit Drive. While police were en route, the suspect allegedly changed into jeans and a white floral shirt behind First Choice Haircutters, then fled on foot.
Police Dog Service attended and was able to locate a suspected firearm, as well as clothes including a green neon hat, camo jacket, white sweater, and black pants. The clothes he changed into were later found nearby.
The investigation is in its very early stages, but police are requesting anyone who saw a Caucasian man changing his clothes behind a business around the time of the robbery, or who has information related to this incident, including surveillance and dash cam footage, to please contact police right away,
said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson.
Those with information are asked to please phone the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference 2022-19080.
