Coquitlam RCMP recovered and returned an electric motorcycle stolen from Coquitlam.

Coquitlam RCMP Frontline officers recovered an electric motorcycle stolen hours before on Wednesday, May 15, 2024. The complainant, Atharva Sangani, was able to track his electric motorcycle through a GPS tracking device that he had installed in the vehicle. Atharva provided the GPS location to Police who then attended the location.

Initially, the motorcycle was not located. It wasn’t until Constable Shaw noticed something shiny deep in the bushes, that police discovered the motorcycle hidden. Once it was retrieved, Police were able to confirm that it was Atharva’s motorcycle.

I’m really thankful to the Coquitlam RCMP, said motorcycle owner, Atharva Sangani. Once I called the police, they were there very quickly and located my motorcycle. They made me feel comfortable and I am extremely happy to have my motorcycle back.

This is the outcome that we hope for in any of our property crime cases, said Media Relations Officer, Corporal Alexa Hodgins. Atharva did everything right by reporting the incident as soon as he realized it was missing and provided police with as much information as possible to aid in its recovery.

There are steps you can take now, which will help aid in the recovery of stolen property, in the unfortunate event you become the victim of a theft.
