
Burnaby RCMP’s Investigative Support Team continue to investigate a late night shooting that has left a victim with non-life-threatening injuries

Burnaby RCMP received a report of a possible shooting incident in the area of 19th Avenue and Humphries Avenue at around 11:20 p.m. last night. Frontline officers located a 19-year-old man with what is believed to be a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The man, who is not currently cooperating with the police investigation, was treated on scene before being transported to the hospital.
Witnesses reported a dark coloured vehicle leave the area before police arrived. A short time later, a similar vehicle was located on fire in North Burnaby.
If you have dash-cam video in the area between 11:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. (midnight), please contact Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9999.
At this time, investigators do not believe this incident is related to the Lower Mainland gang conflict.
This type of event can be frightening for everyone,
said Corporal Mike Kalanj with the Burnaby RCMP. However we do not believe this targeted attack poses any further danger to the public.
