Update: 23-year-old victim, originally reported as a cyclist, has died

On September 13, Burnaby RCMP released information regarding a report of a cyclist that was involved in a collision with a motor vehicle and had life threatening injuries. The incident occurred at the intersection of MacPerson Avenue and Beresford Street.


The 23-year-old victim has since died in hospital.

Speed, alcohol and drugs are not considered factors in the collision and the driver of the vehicle has been cooperating with the investigation.

In the original release, the victim was referred to as a cyclist; however, it was later determined that the victim was riding a Limited Speed Motorcycle (LSM).
