Integrated Homicide Team called to Burnaby

On February 11th, shortly after 10:00 p.m., the Burnaby RCMP was called to the 6200 block of McKee St after a report of gunshots. Upon police attendance, a man was located suffering from gunshot wounds.

Despite all attempts to revive the individual they succumbed to their injuries.

Based on the investigative theory in this initial phase, this does not appear to be a random act.

The area surrounding the scene will be cordoned off for a significant amount of time. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called and will be working in partnership with the Burnaby RCMP.

Police are currently in the evidence gathering phase, no further information will be provided at this time. Further details and media availability will be handled by the IHIT Media Relations Officer.
