File # 2021-00
Each week more than 28,000 people access the Greater Vancouver Food Bank, a quarter of these people are children and young people.
Throughout the pandemic, these food banks are under even more pressure than usual to have items of food for those in need.
So, we need your help. Join Burnaby RCMP and our partners at Metro Vancouver Transit Police on February 5th as we Cram the Cruiser! We’re looking for food donations (please see the most needed items below) to fill our police cars to the brim.
All donations will then be brought straight to our local food bank to help support people in our community over the holiday season.
We’ll be at the Safeway (4440 Hastings St) 11am – 3pm on Friday February 5th.
The most needed items right now by the Greater Vancouver Food Bank are below:
- Low sodium canned salmon
- Canned beans
- Canned vegetable and fruits
- Canned chilli
- Baby products (formula, baby food, diapers)
In addition to these items the food bank is also always looking for the following:
- Natural peanut butter
- Whole wheat pasta
- Brown rice
- Canned chicken
- Canned turkey
So, see you there! Drop by, say hi and don’t forget to bring your donation!
