On Thursday, January 23, 2025 Prince George RCMP responded to a report of a bomb threat at a restaurant on the 6400-block of the Hart Highway just after 11:00 p.m.

Staff at the restaurant stated someone had called the store and threatened to blow the place up. Staff then evacuated the building while waiting for police to arrive. Police officers searching the building determined there was nothing suspicious left either inside or outside of the restaurant.

Through the ensuing investigation, police identified a 14-year-old Prince George resident as the caller. Investigators attended the youth’s home and spoke with him and his guardians, where the youth admitted to making the prank call. The youth is not known to police and this investigation will be getting referred to our Restorative Justice unit for resolution, states Corporal Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.
