Investigation into weigh scale fire continues with new information

The RCMP investigation into the suspected arson at the weigh scales on the Cariboo Highway that occurred on December 24, 2024 continues, with new information that has police reaching out to the public for assistance.
Witnesses to the incident were able to provide investigators with descriptions of the vehicles seen leaving the weigh scales shortly after the fire broke out. If you know where these vehicles are or who they belong to, please contact investigators by calling the Prince George RCMP non-emergency line at 250-561-3300,
states Corporal Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.
Vehicle one:
- Older model Ford flat deck pick up truck with faded paint
- Two red lights on the roof of the cab/headache rack
Vehicle two:
- Smaller sedan, possibly a Subaru
- Pastel green in colour
- Had a roof rack or tent on the roof of the car
This investigation remains ongoing.
