Police investigating early morning shooting

Multiple Kamloops RCMP Detachment frontline officers and Police Dog Services responded to a report of a shooting in the early this morning.

On Friday January 24, 2025 around 2:05 a.m., police were called to the 900 block of 13th Street in Kamloops for a report of a man that had been shot. The victim was located and transported to the hospital by ambulance with serious injuries to the extent of which are unknown at this time.

Although it is early, police believe that several people were in involved in the incident. The file is being supported by the Serious Crime Unit , and General Investigation Support team along with the Kamloops RCMP Forensic Identification Section as part of the ongoing investigation.

While we are continuing our investigation, based on evidence gathered as this time, this incident does not appear to be random, said Cpl. Dana Napier a spokesperson for the Kamloops RCMP.

We are asking anyone who may have been witness to this incident or has video surveillance to call the Kamloops RCMP and reference file 2025-2175.
