File # 2025-2066

Multiple Kamloops RCMP Detachment frontline officers responded to an area near Tranquille Road for a report of a stabbing yesterday night.

On Wednesday Jan. 22, 2025, around 10:15 p.m., police were called to Tranquille Road and Don Street, where a man was located with an injury consistent with a stab wound. He was transported to the hospital by ambulance and is expected to recover.

Luckily, a passerby found the victim in a bush and applied pressure to the injured area, while emergency responders were en route, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP Detachment spokesperson. At this time, the assault is believed to be targeted. Little information is available related to the attacker, other than that the person was allegedly wearing a complete face mask. The attack also may have occurred in another location.

The public is asked to please check their security and dash cameras to see if they captured anything that could help further the investigation.

Anyone with information that may be related to this assault is asked to please contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2025-2066.
