On January 25, 2025, Prince George RCMP and the Prince George Firefighters faced-off in the third annual Sirens Cup Charity Hockey Game.

The firefighters team took home the trophy this year, beating out the police officers 5-3 in regulation time.

While we are a little saddened to have lost the round this year, the real focus of the game is raising money for two great charities: Cops for Cancer Tour de North and the Prince George Firefighters Charitable Society. We are all very glad to be able to give back to the communities we serve in such a fun and positive way, while engaging in a friendly competition at the same time. We are still tallying all the donations, but preliminary numbers indicate we raised over $9500 to be split between the two charities, states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.

In keeping with tradition, Prince George RCMP Superintendent Darin Rappel donned the winning jersey and made a personal contribution towards the Prince George Firefighters Charitable Society (see photo).

Once again, this event could not have happened without the incredible support of our community sponsors. A huge thank-you goes out to the Prince George Spruce Kings, P.G. Portable Toilets, Pattison Media, Flatline Irrigation, Canadian Tire and the National Police Federation.

See you at the 2026 Sirens Cup!
