The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is pleased to welcome Sgt. Freda Fong as its new spokesperson.

Sgt. Fong has been a proud member of the RCMP since 2010 and brings more than 14 years of experience in frontline policing, general investigations, serious crimes and homicides to her new role.

She is an experienced and passionate investigator who has been involved in a number of high-profile cases resulting in fair prosecution.

This is Sgt. Fong’s second time working with IHIT, as she previously worked with the team as an investigator.

I am excited to be back at IHIT as the Media Relations Officer, said Sgt. Freda Fong. I have seen the lasting trauma and suffering these cases can have on families and loved ones of victims, and the impact they can have on our communities. While balancing privacy rights and the integrity of ongoing investigations, my goal is to provide meaningful updates to the public and to be a voice for victims in the pursuit of justice.
