On the evening of August 4, 2023, Officers with BC Highway Patrol – Capital Regional District – Integrated Road Safety Unit (BCHP-CRD-IRSU) conducted traffic enforcement operations in Langford, BC, which was the scene of a local social media group gathering of attendees and their vehicles. The enforcement operations resulted in:

One such vehicle (pictured) was impounded after the officer established that the vehicle was traveling at a speed of 143 km/h in a posted 90 km/h zone.

Staff Sergeant Adam Tallboy, Acting OIC of BC Highway Patrol on Vancouver Island said, It was encouraging to see that the vast majority of attendees were law-abiding vehicle enthusiasts, however there were a small minority that were engaged in behaviour that posed a danger to themselves as well as other road users. BC Highway Patrol continues to target high-risk driving behaviour so all road users can enjoy their social gatherings safely.
