Business Watch - Crime Map – May 2020
Business Watch is a partnership between local Burnaby business communities, the City of Burnaby, and the RCMP.
Our goal is to provide tools and resources to help reduce business-related crime. These maps reflect crime trends in the business community. When incidents are reported to police the information is used to deploy resources strategically, identify crime hot spots, and analyze trends and patterns.
The maps are provided as a tool to promote awareness and crime reduction throughout the business communities. Check out the Business Watch website for more information (External link, opens in a new window http://burnaby.ca/businesswatch)

Bicycle Theft Prevention
- The key is to make your bike a challenge, not an opportunity. Whether you bike to work or have customers who ride a bike, place reminders in your workplace and at your business on general bicycle theft prevention:
- Lock your bike always, even if you are just leaving it alone for a moment.
- Ideally, you should lock your bike in a high traffic area.
- Remove detachable items and take them with you if possible. This includes lights, bags, any quick release items like saddles and wheels.
- Document your bike: take pictures, record the bike serial number, and engrave your driver’s licence number on the bike.
- At home, store your bike inside if you have the space.
- If your bike is stolen, report to the police. If you have documented and engraved your bike as mentioned above, you have a better chance of getting your bike back.
