File # 2024-59023

Surrey RCMP investigating a weekend crash that sent a child to hospital on Saturday.

On April 27, 2024 at approximately 4:20 pm, Surrey RCMP responded to a motor vehicle collision in the 7900-block of 124 Street.

The investigation has determined, a Honda Civic performed a U-turn from the southbound lane of 124 Street, entering the northbound lane of 124 Street, when it was struck by a Dodge Challenger. There was significant damage to both vehicles.

A woman and child were traveling in the Honda Civic and they were transported to hospital as the child sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The adult male driver and passenger traveling in the Dodge Challenger did not sustain injuries.

Impairment has been ruled out, and speed and improper turning are believed to be contributing factors.

The investigation is ongoing.
