Vehicle Arson Update

On Sunday, October 4th, Burnaby RCMP responded to multiple reports of arsons which included vehicles and also an occupied tent that had been set on fire. More information on these incidents is available in this news release from Thursday October 8th.

Since issuing this release and appeal for information, the Good Samaritan who prevented two people who were occupying a tent from potentially being seriously injured has come forward. This individual alerted the tent occupants to the fire and assisted them in getting out. Police are thankful to this person for coming forward and for the bravery she showed in assisting these two individuals and putting the tent fire out.

Today, police are also releasing the video and images below. Investigators would like to speak with this man who was in the area where the arsons took place. Police believe that he may have some information that can help to further the investigation.

The man is described as being 6 feet tall with a slender build. He was wearing a black hoody and dark coloured pants.
