COVID-19 Enforcement Update – September

2020-10-07 14:50 PDT

Going forward, Burnaby RCMP will be issuing a news release each month summarizing enforcement action taken under the COVID-19 Related Measures Act (CRMA). This is being done to ensure that our community is informed about enforcement actions through the COVID-19 pandemic.

In September, Burnaby RCMP issued four tickets to people in our City for COVID-19 related violations. This included two tickets issued at the same address where gatherings were hosted on separate nights. A news release in relation to this enforcement action is available here.

Burnaby RCMP’s COVID Compliance Enforcement Team (CCET) has been conducting regular patrols of businesses along with City of Burnaby bylaw officers in our City and have found a high level of compliance with orders put in place for everyone’s safety through the COVID-19 pandemic.

Along with City of Burnaby bylaws, Burnaby RCMP is asking that members of our community continue to follow the advice of the Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry and ensure that you are physically distancing, keeping your social bubble small, staying home if you are sick and regularly washing your hands.
