Burnaby RCMP seek witnesses to suspected arson

On Friday August 28 at 5 a.m., police responded to a report of a suspicious fire in the 4300-block of Maywood Street. The fire occurred at the rear of the building and quickly spread to a parking structure, eventually causing extensive damage to 10 vehicles and the backside of the residential building.
Today we are asking anyone that may have witnessed this incident or has a dash cam and was driving in the area of 4300-block Maywood Street on the morning of Friday August 28 between 4 a.m. and 6 a.m. to please contact us.
The risk of personal injury in these instances can be extremely high, luckily nobody was injured in this incident, says Corporal Mike Kalanj of the Burnaby RCMP.

Burnaby RCMP Arson Investigators are aware of a car fire that occurred in the same general area on September 2, however, there is no evidence at this time linking the two incidents.
