File # 20-27528

A warrant executed by Burnaby Drug Section has resulted in the arrest of two men and thousands of street level packages of drugs, weapons, cash and vehicles being seized.

On July 22, 2020, Burnaby Drug Section, with assistance from Frontline and Community Response Team officers conducted a search warrant at a high rise in the Brentwood area of the City.

A condo in the building was allegedly being used as a drug processing location for crack cocaine and fentanyl and had been the subject of an extensive investigation by Burnaby Drug Section prior to the warrant being executed.

Approximately 2000 street level doses of crack cocaine, fentanyl as well as bulk cocaine, fentanyl and cutting agents were seized along with $20,000 in cash, four vehicles, several weapons, and phones.

This search warrant and enforcement initiative will serve to help combat the death and devastation of the illegal fentanyl and cocaine trade in Burnaby and the surrounding areas, says Corporal Mike Kalanj. We are asking that Burnaby residents in high rises and other residential areas report any suspicious activity in their neighbourhood to police.

Charges will be forwarded to Public Prosecution Service of Canada for several counts of possession of a controlled substance for purpose of trafficking.
