Burnaby RCMP launch new strategic plan
2019-11-15 13:14 PST
After months of community consultations, conversations with stakeholders, research, planning and speaking to our people at the detachment, Burnaby RCMP is launching a new strategic plan for the period 2019 – 2022.
The plan describes our focus and intended goals for this time period and will be the basis for annual business planning, performance management and regular reporting to Mayor and Council – all of which reflects the Burnaby RCMP’s commitment to transparency and accountability.
The plan is split into four interdependent priorities, all of which have related objectives. Some of these objectives have already commenced including the Burnaby Mobility & Resilience Table (B-MART) and the development of an employee wellness committee at the detachment. Others pertaining to the priority of improving public safety are in advanced planning stages such as the implementation of a differential call response model and the deployment of more high visibility uniform patrols around high crime areas in our City.
I’m proud to say that this plan reflects the enthusiasm and commitment that our people bring to their work each and every day, says Chief Superintendent Deanne Burleigh, Officer-in-Charge at Burnaby detachment. This plan describes how we will achieve our goals for the next four years – by increasing visibility, enhancing service, demonstrating accountability, employing resources effectively and doing our utmost to continue providing exceptional policing services to citizens in Burnaby.
Brochures which outline our strategic plan will be available at the main Burnaby RCMP detachment and our Community Police Office locations in the coming days.
